Artificer

The Artificer blends crafting-flavored Arcane magic with conventional spellcasting, built around the promise of enchanting gear with magical infusions.

Playstyle

The Artificer sits in the same balanced hybrid-caster mold as the Bard or Druid rather than the burst-heavy curve of a pure Mage. As a "half" caster in design terms, it trades some raw spell power for versatility. The class's signature idea is infusions — magically attaching effects to items — which defines the Artificer's identity even though the mechanic isn't live yet.

Current Status

The Artificer is fully playable today — selectable at character creation, with its own stats, identity, and starting kit. Two parts of the planned design are still ahead: infusions, the class's signature mechanic, are explicitly deferred and not yet implemented, and the dedicated skill tree is still empty and in active development. In the meantime the Artificer starts with a placeholder staff and reuses the Mage's purple robes.

Tips

  • Play the Artificer as a flexible hybrid caster for now — infusions aren't available yet, so don't build around them.
  • The starting staff and robes are placeholders shared with the Mage; expect the Artificer's own kit to arrive alongside infusions.
  • Keep an eye on patch notes if you want to be an early adopter once the skill tree and infusion system ship.
